DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP: FCA Baseball vs. Northland Christian, Wednesday, May 21st @ 5pm
20 May by Jimmy Standlea
FCA Families,
I had an error in my announcement. You CAN pay with a credit card at the gate today. My apologies.
If you have not heard, FCA’s baseball team will compete for a District Championship tomorrow vs. Northland Christian @ Northland Christian School at 5:00 pm.
FCA won our semifinal game tonight versus Dekalb High School in 3 innings by a score of 15-0 to advance to the District Championship game.
If you can make it out, we would love to have as much support as possible. The cost to attend the game is $6, cash OR CARD IS ACCEPTED!
As we enter the District Championship, the intensity of the games and the pressure on our athletes will only increase from here. This is natural, and it is an exciting opportunity for our program and these young men.
As we advance in the state tournament, we will face teams from different backgrounds, including those with no faith foundation. This is an incredible opportunity—not just to compete, but to witness for Christ through our actions, attitudes, and words.
1. WE ARE FAITH CHRISTIAN ACADEMY. The name we bear is more than just a school name—it is a testimony. Far beyond wins and losses, our calling is to reflect the love and character of Christ in everything we do. How we play, coach, and cheer matters because it shapes the way others see Christ in us. Jesus calls us to be salt and light in a world that desperately needs Him. (Matthew 5:13-16)
2. PARENTS AND SPECTATORS – YOU HAVE MORE INFLUENCE THAN YOU REALIZE. Our athletes feed off the energy of their fans. This season, you have been incredible in encouraging them and keeping our focus on the game rather than distractions. As we move forward, please continue to:
Encourage our players and keep the atmosphere positive.
Refrain from engaging negatively with officials or opposing teams. Let’s be known as people who uplift, not tear down.
Demonstrate Christ’s love, even under pressure.
Please cheer like crazy and encourage our kids to be the best they can be.
3. THE GAME MAY BE INTENSE – RESPOND IN A WAY WORTHY OF THE GOSPEL. As we enter high-stakes games, let’s prepare our hearts and minds to reflect Christ in how we act, how we compete, and how we cheer. Our teams need you to be great encouragers as we try to accomplish our goals. Remember that every interaction is an opportunity to glorify Christ. Let’s honor Christ and have fun!
Thank you all for being such an incredible support system for our teams. As the atmosphere intensifies, I have full confidence that we will continue to carry ourselves with grace, humility, and the love of Christ.
GO KNIGHTS!
