Northeast Kansas Homeschool
HOME BASKETBALL GAME GUIDELINES

As of 12/14/2020

The State of Kansas has impossed limits on Mass Gatherings. However, they have exempted schools from these limits. As such, we are currently not subject to any order of the State or Shawnee County that would limit fans. We may onlyl face limitations from those who rent facilities to us. These are as follows:

Visiting Schools must provide an onsite administrator, preferably the Athletic Director, for all games.

Athletes may remove their mask when warming up or competing on the court. Athletes must mask on the bench, but grace will be given for any athlete coming off the floor to catch their breath before putting their mask on.

Masks are required in the building at all times by all fans, game personnel, coaches, and athletes (when not competing or warming up).

While there are no specific limits, families shold limit themselves to no more than 3 spectators per athlete. Those athletes with less than 3 spectators CANNOT pass attednece number(s) to other athletes i.e. one athlete cannot have 4 spectators if another athletes only has 2 spectators. Families should sit together and attempt to socially distance from others. Kids will need to sit and be with their parents (not running around). These numbers don’t include game personnel.

Spectators must leave the building when their athlete’s team is not on the court, unless the 36 fan maximum is not met by the fans of the team present. Defference should be made to parents/family of the players competing in the current game.

Spectators shall sit in the bleachers directly across from their team bench.

Athletes that have siblings competing in other games during that evening may remain in the gym, primarily to watch their siblings. These athletes should sit with their families.

Athletes that will be playing in the next game, other than those with siblings playing in the current game as noted above, may enter the gym towards the end of the 2nd quarter in order to warm up at halftime of the game immediately before their game. Once the warmup time is completed, those athletes should group together as a team at the end or behind the bleachers.

If you are an essential worker, you may be in the building during the games that you are working.
